Instruction
The gel burners are very safe as long as they are treated with
the same care that any naked flames deserve. When burning, the
outer surfaces of the gel burner may become warm but will not
damage tables. They are ideal for coffee tables, dining tables,
hearths, garden tables or garden decking.
To light the gel burner simply pour the gel in the reservoir to
within 1cm of the top, and then apply a naked flame to the
surface of the gel. A small blue flame (sometimes difficult to
see immediately) will spread across the surface of the gel and
will then begin to turn yellow within a few seconds. The flames
will reach their maximum height after several minutes and are a
beautiful golden colour, once the gel has warmed up. Because
it is necessary to reach into the reservoir to light the burner
(particularly if the reservoir is only half full), we recommend
that you use a taper or long match for this purpose.
To put out the flame you simply need to replace the lid. The
gel in the reservoir can be re-lit. If you are not going to use
the gel the same day, it is advisable to pour away the gel and
fill the reservoir with hot water for several hours and then
brush to clean the reservoir.
Do not re-fill or light a reservoir immediately after use -
allow it to cool for several minutes before relighting - warm
gel vapours in the reservoir and need time to cool and either
condense or disperse before relighting.
All gel burners sold via our website will come with one free
bottle of gel for you to start with. Each bottle (1L) will last
5 to 10 hours depending on the size of the gel burner. More
bottles of gel can be purchased via our market outlets, show
stands or our website. Please check our Events Calendar
regularly.
